May 5 is very big annual celebrations celebrated every year. Cinco de Mayo is celebrated for the Mexican army's victory over France at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. In the United States Cinco de Mayo is usually celebrated by parades and by big celebrations where people gather and dance and eat and drink. Mexican independence day is very different then Cinco de mayo the reason is because Mexican independence day a speech and battle cry uttered by Roman Catholic priest in 1810 that inspired the movement that ultimately free from Spanish rule. My family because of the day it is and have work probably wont do anything. If it was a weekend my family gathers for dinner and stay up all night while parents play games, talk and drink. Cinco de Mayo is always a very happy day but this year just doesn't feel so good.

This year Cinco de mayo was on a Wednesday so we didn't do any thing. My family and I waited tell the weekend to celebrate we celebrated at a Mexican rodeo called "Jaripeo". We went to see the bull rides and to see the horses and to dance. It was a great night celebrating Cinco de mayo. Every year its celebrated with pride so people yell and smile. The Jaripeo finished at 12 but people pitched in to pay the music to stay and it ended up ending at 3:30 in the morning. Cinco de Mayo means so much to the Mexican culture because its celebrated once a year.
